Master Your LinkedIn Journey

The "New" LinkedIn Algorithm

Hi Reader,

In mid-2025, LinkedIn quietly rolled out a major algorithm overhaul, which transformed how content is ranked, shown and resurfaces across user feeds. It's no longer "social media" - it's now "interest media".

It doesn't matter if you have a 100 followers or 10,000 - now your post would only be shown to those who share a common "interest" in that topic. This means as a user, I'd get to see major milestone of my "social" circle, but not their regular posts about football, if it doesn't interest me. This algorithm was first launched by TikTok many years ago & LinkedIn is one of the last few to have transitioned. But in 2026, there's no doubt that:

Relevance now trumps recency.

Instead of prioritizing the newest posts, LinkedIn’s feed now looks for the most useful, contextually relevant content, even if it was posted weeks earlier. The revamped algorithm evaluates three key dimensions:

✨ Expertise

✨ Engagement quality, and

✨ Dwell time.

Posts that demonstrate thought leadership on a specific topic, albeit backed by authentic insights and meaningful discussions, gain higher visibility over typical “engagement bait” updates. Of course, this is done to keep you on their platform longer, which is why native content formats like carousels, videos and long-form text posts are now favored.

Depth - Not Volume - Wins.

This has to be the biggest takeaway of all. While I posted daily during 22, 23 & 24, I intentionally reduced it to 3x this year. The platform now rewards those who build a consistent digital narrative around their expertise, allowing valuable content to compound over time instead of disappearing overnight. The new algorithm looks at who you are, what you talk about consistently and who interacts with you. It’s tuned to recognize thought leadership - expertise that repeats, evolves, and compounds.

So, if your posts are focused around one domain - say leadership, fitness, or personal branding, LinkedIn begins to associate your name with that niche. In essence, your topic clarity becomes your growth engine.

The takeaway: stop worrying about posting daily. Focus instead on owning your lane and adding unique value each time you hit publish. The more clearly you express what you stand for, the more the algorithm (and your network) understands your expertise.

Analytics That Actually Help You Strategize

While we use more specialized AI software to optimize our clients' content strategy, LinkedIn’s own upgraded analytics are now showing creators insights that go beyond vanity metrics.

Instead of fixating on likes or impressions, you can now see:
- How many people visited your profile after your post.
- How many clicked your link (on the post itself).
- How many new followers you gained as a result.

This means you can tie content directly to conversion. It’s no longer “post and pray.” It’s “post, measure, and multiply.” In other words,

Don’t chase applause; chase action. The goal isn’t to be seen by everyone, but to be remembered by the right ones.
