It was 1991 and I remember an uncle of mine buying one of the first few Sony Bravia 32" in the country! As we kids gathered around happily, the first move we watched was "Terminator 2" and we were blown away. For decades, humanoids have captivated our imaginations on the silver screen and in the pages of novels. Today, they are stepping out of the fictional world and onto factory floors, into warehouses, and soon, potentially into our homes and businesses.
While this revolution is being spearheaded by ambitious players like NVIDIA, OpenAI & Tesla, automotive players like BYD, BMW & Hyundai have already started investing heavily into humanoids on their factory floors. The biggest deterrent has always been the pricing, but Elon Musk's daring statement of humanoids outnumbering humans may soon come true with this video actually showing how they just might do so!
Imagine a warehouse where humanoids work alongside human employees, picking and packing orders with dexterity. Picture a manufacturing plant where they assist with intricate assembly tasks, improving precision and efficiency. Envision a retail environment where they provide customer assistance, answer questions, and even help with stocking shelves. These aren't far-fetched scenarios; they are becoming increasingly feasible with the advancements in humanoid technology.
The driving force behind this capability is sophisticated artificial intelligence. While the physical body provides the form, AI provides the intelligence, perception, and decision-making abilities that allow these robots to operate autonomously and effectively.
The Reason We Discussed This Today
If you're wondering what this has to do with Branding, here's my simple answer. I'm trying to showcase where the wold is headed - AI is a given. It'll soon be a commodity. Google Search as we know it is DEAD. And I'm surprised to see people still wondering if AI is a fad.
If you're a part of my community, it's my responsibility to explain to you WHY we leverage 18 AI tools every week across our organization. I'm also a Perplexity Fellow.
Yes, Builder.AI just went bust despite raising close to $500 million, with investors like Microsoft and the Qatar Investment Authority. Klarna.AI is rehiring humans after firing 10% of their staff in 2022 & not hiring any humans in 2023.
The reason that people are failing with AI is that they are either not using it at all, or over-using it blindly.
Please understand that AI isn’t a replacement engine. It’s an efficiency lever. If you needed 10 people earlier, you can now do it with 2 or 3. But you still need humans.
Strategic ones. Curious ones. T-shaped ones. AI doesn’t kill jobs. People who don’t up-skill with AI kill their own relevance. The ones who treat AI as a collaborator (not a crutch), will win.
